Every SOLUM is clad for the Australian climate, in fibre cement and timber-look finishes.

Each is chosen to sit quietly in its landscape, and finished to the same standard.

Cladding

Settled on a cladding? Select it for your SOLUM Studio.

Ivory

The same fibre cement in the pale of limestone, set against black frames. Ivory takes the first and last light of the day and holds on to it.

Fibre cementBronze-tinted, low-E glazing

Char

A charred-timber look, after the old practice of burning timber to protect it, laid in a shiplap profile. A deep, warm black with the grain still showing through.

Charred timber-look shiplap

Amber

A warm timber look, laid in a shiplap profile. Amber carries the warmth of timber to the outside of the house, and glows at dusk.

Timber-look shiplap

Urbanite

Pale stone-look panels and vertical timber-look battens, with olive set between the windows. The warmest and most architectural of the claddings, as at home on a city block as in the bush.

Every cladding comes with double glazing, black matt metalwork and outdoor LED feature lighting.

Inspired by the Australian landscape, we’ve painstakingly designed four interior palettes.

Each is engineered as a complete composition, so every finish belongs and nothing is left to chance.

We’ll connect you with finance options and walk you through them when pre-orders open. Not a problem. Plenty of people decide once they’ve seen the numbers, and we can talk you through both when pre-orders open.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Anything else, ask us in your message.

01 / 08

Do I need a planning permit?

Every site is different, and as part of our process we help you work out which permits yours will need. In Victoria, for example, a second home of up to 60 m² generally does not need a planning permit where no special planning controls apply. SOLUM Studio, at 42 m², and SOLUM Plus, at 55 m², sit within that size; SOLUM Max sits right at the limit, so a planning permit is more likely.

Every home still needs a building permit, and the rules vary from state to state and council to council. It is best to confirm your situation with your local council or a town planner.

02 / 08

How do you approach compliance and quality control?

SOLUM Studio, SOLUM Plus and SOLUM Max are designed to meet the National Construction Code, including its energy-efficiency requirements. All three are also designed to the NCC’s Liveable Housing Design requirements, with step-free entry, wider doorways and a bathroom designed for grab rails to be added later.

The final energy rating for your home will depend on your climate zone and how it sits on your site. Compliance is tracked through manufacture in our facility, which helps make final sign-off more straightforward.

03 / 08

What does the process look like?

From the first conversation to the keys, in eleven or twelve stages depending on how your home reaches you. The way home sets out every one.

04 / 08

How does factory construction affect sustainability?

Building in a factory means materials are ordered to size and cut precisely, offcuts can be reused, and work happens under cover. That means less waste going to landfill than on a typical building site, and less disruption on yours while your home is being made.

05 / 08

How do you handle warranties and defects?

Every HAAVN home comes with a manufacturer’s warranty, and there are checkpoints throughout to make sure yours arrives and is installed in good condition.

If a defect does arise, we will manage it with you under that warranty, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply as well.

06 / 08

What is the lead time?

Typically about 8 weeks from confirming your order for your home to arrive in Australia, ready for delivery. Allow around 3 weeks more for delivery and installation, depending on your location and local contractors. We will confirm your timeline with your quote.

07 / 08

How much does SOLUM weigh?

SOLUM Studio weighs approximately 17 tonnes, and SOLUM Max approximately 25 tonnes. We will confirm the weight of SOLUM Plus with your quote.

These figures are approximate. The final weight will vary with your fit-out and finishes, and we plan your delivery and craning around it.

08 / 08

Does HAAVN manage the whole process?

Yes. We offer an end-to-end service for every home we make. If you would rather, you can choose supply only, or supply and delivery, instead.
